Designers use imagery constantly; I like to use my own imagery whenever possible. By building my technical proficiency in illustration, painting, etc. I've noticed that, not only am I able to create my own imagery, but my abilities as a designer are bolstered. I better understand color, composition, and a litany of other things by expanding my artistic horizons.
